Duck Duck Goofs: The CLub

  • Because we want to foster a community space for the funniest stand-up comedy in the country.

  • With a lot of help from our community, and with a lot of hard work.

  • Because they’re majestic. They’re the vibe of the horizon as we fly towards the completion of the club. Also, they were the default picture.

Current State of the Club

What’s been done. What’s next. Below.

  • What’s Done: The wiring is run through the building, all of the lights are installed and working, the HVAC has been linked to power, and the hanging bar lights (as of this morning) have been hung.


    What’s Next:
    The bar above the stage for adjustable stage lights will be installed, and then, the final electrical inspection by the city of Somerville.

  • What’s Done: Water is running, toilets and sinks are working.


    What’s Next:
    Installation of Ice Machine, Dishwasher, Ice Well, and then final plumbing inspection.

  • What’s Done: The pipes have been cut for the sprinkler system, the holes have been cut in the ceiling tiles, which have been placed. The alarm system if fully installed and in operation. And the fire doors have been installed.


    What’s Next:
    Final installation of lower sprinkler system through the ceiling tiles. Final Fire Inspection.

  • What’s Done: All wiring has been completed. All permanent fixtures have been applied. The first layer of wood stain has been applied.


    What’s Next:
    One more layer of stain, and then an epoxy over the bar top.

  • What’s Done: Almost everything.


    What’s Next: There is one more door to install, when all of the rest of the ceiling construction is complete (We are doing this last so that it is easier to transport material through the bar area and the stage area) Then, final electrical inspection

  • What’s done: We’ve been issued our liquor and entertainment license from the state.

    What’s next: Once we’ve gotten our final inspection done, we can get our food license approved. And once we have that, they’ll give us our liquor and entertainment license and we’ll be able to confidently give our opening weekend dates, but this time, with our lawyer’s approval.
